Boeing won a $1 billion order, which procures 400 RGM-84L-4 Harpoon Block II Update (HIIU) Grade B canister tactical missiles, four RTM-84L-4 Block II HIIU Grade B canister exercise missiles, 411 containers, four blast test vehicles, two Harpoon Weapon System (HWS) Joint Common Test Sets (JCTS), Harpoon Coastal Defense System (HCDS) spares, weapon station support equipment, JCTS spares, missile spares, HCDS training equipment, integrated logistics support and technical publications, field service representatives and training. Work will take place in Texas, Michigan, Maryland, New Jersey, Missouri, Ermont, Kansas, Alabama, Oklahoma, Arizona, New York, Washington, Minnesota, Missouri, Washington and various locations within and outside the continental US.
Bell Boeing won a $7.5 million order, which provides for the sustainment of previously-delivered block fleet releases as well as ongoing development of flight test, fleet releases and analysis leading to implementation of future sustainment block fleet releases in support of the V-22 avionics systems. Work will take place in Pennsylvania and Texas. Expected completion will be in January 2024. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Maryland, is the contracting activity.

The Royal Bahraini Air Force’s first F-16 Block 70 fighter has arrived at Edwards Air Force Base on March 28 where the 412th Test Wing’s 416th Flight Test Squadron will conduct flight tests on the aircraft before delivery to the Bahrain Defense Force.
Europe
Engineering firm ABB has received a contract from shipbuilder Meyer Turku to deliver integrated power and propulsion solutions for the Finnish Border Guard’s two advanced multi-purpose patrol vessels. Under the agreement, ABB will supply its Azipod propulsion units, Onboard DC Grid power systems, and Power and Energy Management Systems to support the ships’ ice-breaking and high-maneuverability capabilities.
Rheinmetall has confirmed the start of negotiations to produce more than 100 Boxer combat vehicles in Australia for Germany. The effort is part of a $1.9-billion deal inked in March to replace the German Army’s Wiesel armored weapons carriers with direct tactical fire support vehicles.

Chinese fighter jets and warships simulated strikes on Taiwan Sunday as they encircled the island during a second day of military drills launched in response to its president meeting with the US House speaker. The exercises sparked condemnation from Taipei and calls for restraint from Washington, which said it was “monitoring Beijing’s actions closely.”
